Moisture is the enemy of pneumatic systems, and SMC has a wide array of air dryers to keep moisture out of your systems. A wide range of sizes are available to meet flow ranges from 10~1000 liters per minute (ANR) and dew points from -15 to -60 degrees C.

IDF* series refrigerated air dryers are available in multiple configurations for use around the world. These standard inlet air temperture models (max. 122~149°F [50~65°C]) reliably generate dew points down to 37°F (2.°C) that is suitable for most industrial applications. All feature environmentally friendly R134a or R407C refrigerants, compact designs and stainless steel heat exchangers.

IDFB series refrigerated air dryers are cUL listed for use in North America. These 60 Hz models have rated flows up to 459 SCFM (780 m³/hr [ANR]).
IDF series refrigerated air dryers are capable of operation on 50 or 60 Hz power for use throughout the world where specific certifications aren't required. This series includes SMC's largest units with rated flows up to 2,295 SCFM (65 m³/min [ANR]).
IDFA series refrigerated air dryers are CE marked for use in Europe and other regions that require this mark. These 50 Hz models have rated flows up to 883 SCFM (1500 m³/hr [ANR]).
Series IDU provides a stable supply of dry air even under high demand conditions with an inlet air temperature up to 176°F. The IDU's stainless steel heat exchanger improves corrosion resistance. Each unit is also equipped with an evaporation thermometer as a standard feature.
SMC's series IDH compact air dryer offers stable, compressed air temperature control with its integrated heater, regulator, dryer, and filter. The IDH air dryer delivers a constant volume of compressed air at the correct temperature, dew point, pressure and cleanliness, regardless of external conditions or seasonal climatic conditions. Due to it's compact size, and the ventilation holes being on the front and top, the IDH can be installed close to a wall or panel.
Optional accessories include: a separately installed power transformer (supplies other than standard power and voltage); dedicated base (integrates a separately installed power transformer and the air dryer); dust-protecting filter set (prevents a decline in the performance of an air dryer); bypass piping set (connecting this set to the air dryer allows a substantial reduction in installation time); foundations bolt set (fixes the air dryer to the foundations); and a piping adapter (converts the thread type of and IN/OUT fitting for an air dryer).

Designed for convenient point of use drying without the need for electrical power, membrane dryers utilize hollow fiber membranes to remove water vapor from compressed air. Permeable to water vapor but not air, the IDG series can achieve pressure dew points as low as -44°F (-42°C) and ISO 8573-1 moisture classes from 2 to 6. They have no moving parts, vibration, or heat discharge and contribute only a small amount of purge air to their operating environment. The IDG series is available as single units or conveniently assembled with necessary pre-filtration and optional pressure regulation.
Membrane air dryer series IDG is available in a single unit or combination unit style. IDG/M models combine a mist separator and micro mist separator with a single unit. IDG/V models combine a regulator with the IDG/M model. Options available include one-touch fitting exhaust of purge air. If purged air is not exhausted around membrane air dryer, air is exhausted with tubing away from its dryer.

Regenerative desiccant drying systems provide the greatest level of drying capability amongst widely available drying technologies. The ID and IDW series are heatless units that produce atmospheric dew points of -22°F (-30°C) and below and ISO 8573-1 moisture classes of class 3 and better. Heatless designs alternate between two desiccant columns and use a small portion of the dried air from the column in service to regenerate the other column, thus assuring continuous capability of providing dried air.
Heatless air dryer ID series is best when dry air with a low dew point is needed. Supply dry air with a low dew point below 30°C. Air dryer series ID is compact and light weight without heater and electric control board. Possible to check the outlet dew point with the indicator. (Self-regenerative style allows for easy maintenance.)
The IDW series is a heatless unit that produces atmospheric dew points of -22°F (-30°C) and below, and ISO 8573-1 moisture classes of class 3 and better. Heatless designs alternate between 2 desiccant columns and use a small portion of the dry air from the column in service to regenerate the other column, thus assuring continuous capability of providing dry air.
